Syringa prestoniae "James Mc Farlane"
Yeager, 1959, USA
The flowers are very similar to the famous Miss Canada.
Shrubs are relatively low, up to 3 meters in height, with sparse sparsely spaced branches. Inflorescences are large, heavy, efficient, medium-sized, sparse, and firm. Flower buds are pink burgundy.
Flowers are pinkish purple, fragrant. The variety was named in honour of James McFarlin (1864-1950), a gardener at the University of New Hampshire (1915-1949).
