Syringa x prestoniae "MISS CANADA".
SV group. The flowers are simple, but the colour of the inflorescences is dark deep pink, which when opened when the flowers become distinctly bright. It extends the flowering time of lilac, blooms very late - about two weeks later than most famous French varieties.
Flowers are simple, pink. PINKIE. Villosae, or hairy lilac, is winter-hardy, hardy. Tolerates unfavourable growing conditions, pilot. As you can see, it is available in different varieties. It is elegant and unique, very modern variety.
Does NOT make shoots!
Historically in Canada, around 1920, Isabella Prestone worked on the crossing of S. Villosae and S. Reflexa and created the late flowering lilac line Syringa x prestoniae.
Later, in around 1967, Dr. W. A. Cumming introduced this new variety "Miss Canada". It is a cross between S. josiflexa "Redwine" and S. prestoniae "Hiawatha".
