Syringa meyeri „Red Pixie”.
Syringa meyeri "Red Pixie" is a miniature lilac, a crossing of Syringa meyeri "Palibin" and Syringa julianae 'Hers'.
In appearance, it is quite similar to Syringa meyeri "Palibin". There is a difference in the colour and shape of the flowers. RED PIXIE buds are ruby red and red to pink when open. Then fade to light pink. Very compact shrub rarely grows higher than 1.5 m in height. Shrub branches grow more horizontally. It is one of the smallest lilacs; fragrant and winter-hardy variety. Often blooms later in late summer - with us in Zosēni, in Latvia even until October.
