Syringa vulgaris „Vesper”
DII-VII lilac group
It is allegedly obtained by crossing Syringa vulgaris with Syringa oblata.
Thus an early flowering lilac with dark purple-purple flowers was obtained.
Shrub leaves, like Syringa oblata, turn bronze red in autumn.
The flowers are simple and impressive and very fragrant.
It blooms from mid-May to early June.
