Syringa oblata Broadleaf lilac
Broadleaf lilac. Syringa oblata. It grows wild in North China and Korea. Shrub or small tree. The leaves are very large. In autumn, the leaves turn purple.
The flowers resemble ordinary lilac, light purple or light violet. The smell is peculiar, but pleasant, different from ordinary lilac.
Broad-leaved lilac blooms 2 weeks earlier than ordinary lilac!!! It doesn't make shoots!!!
We already had seedlings sprouted in 2015. It is a promising plant for selection for early varieties.
